I wish the story followed Red and her grandmother after they turned. I think this story would make a great novel/ series.
I've really enjoyed this series so far. However, this story was a little different due to the wolf factor. Still good, just not my favorite.
I enjoyed this one as much as the very first one about Cinderella. i love how the characters from the other stories keep showing up. this one was gory and I loved it. there was some surprises that I wasn't expecting either. great read.
I enjoy fairy tales of all types, and I enjoyed reading these different takes on centuries-old stories. These are definitely not for kids but more mature people who won't be disturbed by the dark images called to mind in these stories. Great series.
Blood Red Riding Hood dishes out piles of blood. From beginning to end the axes swing body parts are torn and blood splatters.
The Huntsman wants Red all for himself. Even after he becomes plagued by what's lurching around Fairy Tale land. Does he get his little red bride?

Red never wanted a man, she wanted to be like her Grandma independent. She finally gets her chance when the man who loved her is killed by zombie wolves, and made the pack leader. The huntsman even in death loves Red and does what he has to have his love, and even in death Red wants independence. Grandma may have been "eaten" by the wolf but she still survived as well as Red who again even in death remain independent. A must read to see how independent woman survive no matter what!
I love this series and eagerly await the 13th of each month for the next installment ( I almost wet myself when it took The Revenge of the Match Girl till the 14th to be available to me for download!)
My 18 yr old son thinks they are the slaughtering of his childhood stories but as I explained to him most of these fairy tales if examined closely are stories of child abandonment,incest,child labor, child murder,etc anyway in their orginal form.
I truly apppreciate the way Mr Richey has not only made them humorous to the point of outlandishness which fairy tales are but also managed to keep the stories so if read from book 1 on the characters from pevious and future stories keep interacting so to speak -)Interesting take on how one's actions can cause a ripple effect ;-)
